- The "best" (=works best for me) is available at
- <A HREF="http://www.america.com/~kruse/home.html">Amiga PPP, ReORG,...</A>
- Look for ReOrg3.11+
-
- or from AmiNET:
- ReOrg3_1.lha disk/optim 326K 133+Disk optimizer with DC-FFS support
- ReOrg3_11pch.lha disk/optim 19K 131+Patch from ReOrg 3.1 to ReOrg 3.11
-
- You might find this useful too, sometime:
- DiskSalv11_32.lha disk/salv 118K 37+Dave Haynie's DiskSalv version 11.32
-
- A Fragmented disk: a) Free space is not in one single chunk.
- b) Large files end up "spread out" all over the disk.
- c) Directory & File-header blocks (technical)
- are "spread out".
- Much of: write new file, delete very old file...
-
- All of the above makes disk access slower. Recalced to a %-age by ReOrg.
- This appears more or less on other OS'es too.
-
- Kind regards/Mvh
